François Borne (1840-1920) was a French flautist and composer. He studied at the Paris Conservatory and later taught at the music schools in Toulouse and Marseille. Borne is best known for his composition "Fantaisie brillante sur Carmen", a virtuosic work for flute and piano that has remained popular to this day.
