The individual was born on November 23, 1953, in Voorburg and completed his musical training at the Hague's Royal Conservatory, majoring in band conducting and trombone. This composer of programmatic music incorporates characteristics from classical and contemporary composers alike. His debut composition, the Symphony No. 1 'The Lord of the Rings,' was played for the first time in Brussels in 1988, and it emerged victorious in the Sudler International Wind Band Composition Competition in 1989 in Chicago. He created the Symphonic poem 'Loch Ness' for the International Festival in Uster, and his third piece, 'Aquarium,' was requested by the Dutch Composers Fund. The Symphony No. 2 'The Big Apple' (A New York Symphony) was produced and premiered by the U. S. Air Force Band.
