Jacob Gade (1879-1963) was a Danish violinist and composer. He is best known for his composition 'Jalousie', which has become one of the most famous tango pieces in the world. Gade composed music for over 120 films and wrote more than 300 songs, several of which became popular hits. He also worked as a conductor and violinist for various orchestras.
