Johannes Andersen was a hornist and composer. He studied with Th. Aagaard, Paul Hellmuth, and Carl Nielsen. His musical career began in 1906 as a trumpet player and after switching to French horn he was a member of the Tivoli Concert Hall Orchestra and later the National Symphony Orchestra and Radio Symphony Orchestra. In parallel with his life as a performer he wrote many compositions including ballet work, opera, orchestral works, cantatas, chamber music, and songs.
