Saule, Pērkons, Daugava performed at the XXVI General Latvian Song FestivalBorn in 1951 in Riga in the family of doctors Voldemar and Tamara Braun, lived in Alūksne as a child. He studied in the piano class of the Emīlas Dārziņš Music High School, in the choir and choir conducting classes, in the music theory department under Gederts Raman, and at the same time played the piano, guitar and harmonica in the group "Dzintara lelles" and the group "Sfinksi".He studied in the composition class of Jāzeps Vītolas of the Latvian State Conservatory Ādolfas Skultes, graduating in 1975.
Worked as the head of the musical section in the Drama Theater (1975-1982) and was the leader, keyboard player and composer of the rock group "Sīpoli" (1978-1986). Since 1986, he has been a member of the Latvian Cinematographers' Union, a member of the Latvian Composers' Union.
Braun was the artistic director of the chamber choir "Sindi putnu dāržas" (1985-1992). Since 1995, Braun was the owner and director of the sound recording studio "Mārtiņš".In 2021, soon after the premiere of the new production of the musical show "Mowglis" on October 15, Martín Braun was admitted to the hospital with a myocardial infarction, where he probably contracted COVID-19. Died on November 24, 2021.
