Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach is the third son of J.S. Bach. He first studied music in Leipzig with his father, then went on to study law but later returned to music. In 1740 he became one of the Prussian king Frederick the Great's musicians and taught music at the 'Lateinschule' and worked in five Hamburg churches. C.Ph. Bach is considered a master of 'Empfindsamkeit', which was very popular in the second half of the 18th century. He created numerous keyboard orchestral works, chamber music, concerts, oratorios, 22 passageways, cantatas, lieder, and more.
