The singer's childhood was spent in a military town, 30 km from the city of Ulan-Ude. Already in his childhood, his acting abilities were revealed, he often acted in school plays, parodied other students and teachers. The first debut of the actor was in 1994.

Galkin started his variety career in his youth as a participant of the show "KVN", in which he now sometimes participates as an evaluator. He became known for being hunted by other people and for parodies and duets with famous singer and partner Ala Pugačiova. He hosted the entertainment dance show "Dancing with the Stars" (Russian: Танцы со звёздами) with the performer.
