The director's creative style began to take shape while still studying at the St. Petersburg Theater Institute. Already the first performances created during the study years - "Wedding" (1995), "Uzhrasai iš pogrinđios" (1996), "Waiting for Godot" (1996) - were innovative, welcomed as a radically new word in stage art.
