is a Latvian composer and pedagogue. Jāzepa Vītola Latvian Music Academy pedagogue, docent.Born on June 10, 1931 in Škaune parish in the family of organist Boleslav Jermak. After the Second World War, he studied at the Slokas High School, then at the Jázeps Mediņš Music High School (1954–1957). He studied in the composition class of Jānis Ivanovs of the Latvian Conservatory, which he graduated with honors (1962). He worked at music high school in Rēzekne (1962–1963) and Cēsu (1963–1964), worked as a sound director at Latvian Television (1964–1971). Since 1971, he worked at the Latvian Conservatory, in 1976 he was elected as a senior teacher of the Department of Composition, in 1988 as an assistant professor.After the restoration of Latvia's independence, he worked at the Daugavpils Music High School (1992–1997), where he restored the organ class.He composed around 20 concerts for various instruments and chamber orchestra.
