Having become a clergyman in his youth, he lived in Rome. He came to the state of Poland and Lithuania at the end of the reign of Sigismund III. In 1634 Vladislaus IV appointed him the palace secretary for Italian affairs, in 1638-40 he visited Venice and Rome in search of Italian singers for the ruler's palace chapel and theater. Elected member of the Academy of Venice. There is information that V. Puccitelli was a singer in the palace chapel of Vladislav IV. He created eight opera librettos in Italian. Based on his librettos, 3 operas (dramma musicale in Italian) were staged in the Palace of the Lower Castle in Vilnius: The Kidnapping of Helena (Il ratto di Helena 04.09.1636; composer, probably M. Scacchi) and Andromeda (L'Andromeda 06.03.1644) by an unknown composer, and Apviltoji Kirkė (Circe delusa 1648 04 16). During the preparation of performances, he visited Vilnius. In 1645 Pope Innocent X appointed him canon of Łęcza. He lived in the palace of John Kazimierz until 1649. After returning to Italy, until 1652 he cooperated with the unofficial Polish and Lithuanian representative office of abbot Stanislaus Mankovskis, who resided in Naples. V. Puccitelli's librettos, written according to the plots of the ancient epic, are in the form of classical drama, full of baroque spirit. They are full of allegorical, didactic, moralistic elements (opera performances were intended to mark the events of Vladislav IV's life).
