she was born in Budapest. He graduated from the University of Theater and Film in 1973. Since 1971, he has been a member of the Vígszínház. In addition to his theater roles, he played outstanding roles in more than 40 films and TV shows, but also directed portrait and educational films. In 1975, he received the Irén Varsányi memorial ring, and in 1977, the Jászai Mari award. SHe won the Andor Ajtay Memorial Award five times (1978, 1986, 1995, 1999, 2007)
.In 1990,  became a Merited Artist. In 1996, he received the Small Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary. In the same year, he also won the Éva Ruttkai memorial ring. In 2004, the Vígszínház awarded him with the Imre Roboz Art Memorial Award. In 2008, he received the Kossuth Prize.
