"Cantemus" won third place, a special prize, a bronze medal and a cash prize at the international competition "Tallinn-88" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of G. Ernesaks. Great success accompanied the choristers in 1989. at the international competition in Tours (Tours - France), where he won the first place in the national program category and the third place in the mandatory programs, he received a special prize from the French Minister of Culture and a cash prize. in 1989 at the international choir competition in Spain (in the city of Tolosa) he won the second prize for the performance of the folklore program, and the third prize for the polyphonic music. in 1990 won the second prize and silver medal at the international polyphonic music competition in Arece (Arezzo - Italy), visited Pope John Paul II in the Vatican. in 1992 at the international choir competition in Gorizia (Gorizia - Italy) he received the third prize for the polyphonic music program and two second places for folklore. The conductor won a special prize from music critics. "Cantemus" also participated in church music festivals in Šiauliai and Marijampole, as well as in music festivals in Germany and Finland. On January 5, 1997, they held a 10th anniversary concert in Vilnius Archcathedral Basilica (conservatory chamber orchestra participated).
