K. Rolšteins was the managing director of the company "Creative Laboratory", in 2010 he participated in the founding of "The Last Party".K. Rolšteins has been making music since 1986, when he played minimalist synthpop in Sabile in the group "Pavisam nezināma laboratoria" together with Māri Žigat. In the late 1980s, he began to cooperate with Inga Bauškėnieks and learned from him how to assemble tapes. Top "P.N.L." the first album "Ziema. Sleep. Ice.", which includes songs recorded in the period from 1986 to 1988. In 1990, another album "Pavisam nezināma izlase" is completed.
At the beginning of the 90s, K. Rolšteins started cooperation with Viestura Slava, a member of "Zzelteno Postnieku". Together, they created the albums "Shūpoles" (1996) and "Opening Night" (2008).K. Rolšteins has been cooperating with Hardija Ledina for a long time. In 1997, the director Regnārs Vaivars staged the opera "Rolstein on the Beach", composed by both, which was later released on CD and DVD. In 2003, the two's next project, "Ideal Standard", released an album with jointly composed songs "Gennadijs knocks on the door". Several pieces were based on compositions written already in the 90s and not used in the opera.
In 2011, the premiere of K. Rolštein and R. Vaivaras' absurd opera "Stockholm Syndrome" took place in Andrejsala, Riga. Both also participate in playing the musical accompaniment as part of the ensemble "Orchestral Magnetophons in the Dark" together with Viestura Slava, Jēkab Voļatovski and Guna Paula. The recording of the opera was released in digital format in 2018.
After that, K. Rolšteins published the selection "Abandoned records 2001-2011".
