He also directs theatre and opera in Poland (Madame Butterfly, King Roger - Warsaw Opera) and abroad (Wyrywacz Pracy - Centre Pompidou, Paris). He is preparing a production of Othello in Germany, and his project is to direct Madame Butterfly in Washington DC. Member of the Cinematography Committee 1989-1991.
Screenwriter and director of film, theatre and opera. He was born on 28 March 1962 in Warsaw. He studied at the Directing Department of the National Film School in Łódź. In the same year, he made his debut as a writer and director in the documentary "Keyhole".His first feature-length television film was "The Mountain of the Great Whale" in 1987.In 1990, at the Venice International Film Festival, he presented his feature-length film "Farewell to Autumn", which is still considered the best screen adaptation of Witkacy's prose. This debut in cinema was followed by a five-year break from filmmaking.From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of the Cinematography Committee. For two years he was artistic director of the Studio. In 1995, Treliński's next film, The Gentle One, a screen adaptation of Dostoyevsky's story, starring Dominika Ostalovska and Janusz Gajos, premiered. Shortly afterwards, he was offered the opportunity to direct Elisabeth Sikora's opera Wyrywacz Pracy on the TW stage. The work was presented at the Warsaw Autumn Festival (1995) and at the Pompidou Centre in Paris (1997).The connection with the Bolshoi Theatre was a breakthrough in his career. In 1999, he directed Madame Butterfly on this stage to great success. Plácido Domingo offered to transfer the production to the Washington Opera, which he directed (2001). Invitations poured in from the world's leading opera houses. Treliński began to collaborate with opera houses in Washington, Berlin, Moscow, St Petersburg, Valencia, Tel Aviv and Vilnius. He has presented his works at festivals in Edinburgh and Baden-Baden.
