Graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1964, teacher Antanas Gudaitis. From 1969 he taught at the Kaunas Children's Art School (since 1996 Kaunas Antanas Martinaitis Art School).
He painted landscapes ("Blooming on the Hill of the Fairies" in 1971, "The Birds and the Sun" in 1972), figural compositions ("The End of the Year on Gudkalnis" in 1969, "Junkilų ženy ir Varmikė" 1974, "My Childhood Evening" 1979, "We All Love Pinocchio" 1980, "Abracadabra" 1985), still lifes ("Still Life with a Bird" 1971-1972, "Still Life with Crayfish" 1973, "Still Life 1977"). The work is characterised by a clear composition, distinct texture, rhythmic brushstrokes, contrasting rich colours, predominantly green, red, brass, strong metaphoric, ironic and grotesque qualities, reality is often intertwined with fairy tales. The characters of the paintings are women (beauties, brides, mothers, muses), travelling, strolling actors and musicians, masked figures (spiders, harlequins, Pinocchio), children, birds, scarecrows.
Since 1965 he has taken part in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. Individual exhibitions were held in 1968, 1970, 1977 in Vilnius, 1973 in Liepaja, 1980 in Kaunas, posthumous exhibitions in 1987 in Šiauliai, 1987, 1995 in Vilnius, 1987, 1989, 1996, 1999 in Kaunas. The Lithuanian Art Museum has works of art. He has written poems ("Paskui medinio konkliuką" ("Then the Wooden Horse", published in 1994), short stories. Buried in Romainiai Cemetery.
