Biography
I was born on 21 July 1988 in Vilnius. When I was still studying at Vilnius Gabija Gymnasium (1995-2007) I was interested in history and I was determined to study this subject in the future. I was particularly interested in the early medieval period in Lithuania, which I studied and participated in the Young Historians' Olympiad (2007) at my school, then in Vilnius, and finally in the Republic of Lithuania. However, an archaeologist who came to my school in the tenth grade became very interested in the lecture he was giving and made me rethink my choice of studies. Two years later, I enrolled in archaeology knowing that I wanted to be an archaeologist.
It was only when I enrolled that the Stone Age unplanned caught my attention, and after the first excavations I realised that it was the field I was most interested in. Since then I have been studying the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods more and more closely. My research interests are best reflected in the themes of the research papers I have written in recent years. I am interested in the Final Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods of Lithuania, the archaeology of the World Palaeolithic, more specifically the reconstruction of life in these periods, the technologies of fire, the technology of flint and other rock processing, experimental archaeology, and interdisciplinary research. I am also involved in popularisation of archaeological science and inventorying flint finds on request.
