was a Latvian sculptor.Born in Liepāja in the family of an engineer. He was directed to engage in art by his elementary school drawing teacher. In 1939, he graduated from Liepāja Art School with a specialty in ceramics and in 1949 from the sculpture department of the Latvian Academy of Arts, his thesis was supervised by Teodors Zaļkalns. He has presented his granite and bronze sculptures at exhibitions since 1951, and also created small porcelain sculptures.The artist's ashes are buried in the Riga Forest Cemetery.
