Graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1982. Since 1983 lecturer at the Kaunas Institute of Art of Vilnius Academy of Arts, 1989-1993 Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Art. Since 2004 professor.
Creativity
In his art he develops the principle of photorealism, sometimes paints based on old photographs, applies the stylistics of the illusionistic painting trompe l'œil, magic realism. Paraphrases of works by old masters of painting (Giorgione, Engro, etc.), allusions to modernist painting trends (e.g. Neo-Impressionism) are characteristic. Important paintings include Self-Portrait in a Historical Museum, 1985, Napoleon's Army Crossing the River Nemunas on 12 June 1812, 1986, The Lucky One is Me, or The Broken Refrigerator, 1995, The Dream of Venus, 1998, "The Sleeping Guardian", 1999, the triptych "The Firemen's Fight with a Rainbow", "Banal Plot", both in 2000, "Pamiškė", 2003.Since 1982 he has been participating in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad (in Italy, Latvia).
