Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1913. From 1914-1920 he lived in St. Petersburg, from 1921 intermittently studied at Vilnius University, from 1931 he was a lecturer there; from 1937 he was an associate professor. Worked at the Museum of the Vilnius Society of Friends of Science. From 1946 he lived in Poland, taught at the University of Toruń, and from 1947-1961 was the head of the Department of Graphic Arts.
Created cycles of etchings on historical, domestic, and urban themes (the folders Old Vilnius in 1924, 1925, 1927), theatre scenery, book illustrations, and book illustrations, as well as ex-libris, portraits, and images of Vilnius. In 1929-1932 he restored the decor of the P. Smuglevičius and J. Lelevelis halls of Vilnius University. In 1933 he made copies of the frescoes of Trakai Castle. In 1938-1939 he decorated the Episcopal Chapel of Vilnius Cathedral with sgraffito technique, in 1942-1943 (with others) - the churches of Lentvaris and Perlojos, in 1944 - the church of St. In 1944 and 1944-1944, he decorated the interior of the Church of St. James and St. Philip in Vilnius. He created a series of documentary photographs of Lithuanian historical sites. His works are characterised by detailed drawing, strong Baroque and late Romantic features.
