Mother is actress and director Zuzana Arlauskaitė-Mikšienė, wife is painter Miriam Meras. She acquired the basics of art under sculptor A. Janulis at Kaunas Jesuit gymnasium. In 1946-1949 he studied at the Nuremberg and Stuttgart art academies. 1979-1988, taught Lithuanian language and Lithuanian history (until 1985) at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris.
Created linocuts, etchings and lithographs. Linocuts are characterised by crisp lines, etchings are distinguished by subtle halftones, graceful refined lines and expressive type associated with the image. From 1948 onwards, he produced lettered linocuts ("Scarf Fan", 1948), which he sometimes combined into cycles or series. Favourite subjects: people's faces, hands, images of the Old Town ("Senamiestis" 1965, "Senamiestis. Chimneys" 1976), nature motifs. More than 100 ex-libris, miniatures and vignettes. Since 1965 he has participated in exhibitions abroad and since 1974 in Lithuania. His exhibitions in 1993, 2001 and 2009 were held by Šiauliai "Laiptų galerija", and in 2009 - by Kėdainiai Janina Monkutės-Marks Museum-Gallery.
