He studied music in Šiauliai. In 1941 he graduated from Šiauliai gymnasium. In 1949 graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatoire. Since 1949 he has been a lecturer at the Conservatoire, in 1974 he became a professor. Among his pupils were Petras Radzevičius, Donatas Katkus and others.
1941-1944 - member of a string quartet consisting of Stasys Jurkevičius (1st violin), Jurgis Fledžinskas (2nd violin), Jonas Fledžinskas (viola) and Aleksandra Kašubienė (cello). 1946-1981 - member of the Lietuvos Quartet, laureate of international competitions, winner of second prize at the Budapest International Competition in 1959 and the Liège International Competition in 1964. Conductor of the Conservatory Symphony Orchestra 1959-1972. He was the first to perform works by Valentin Bagdonas, Balys Dvarionas, Benjamin Gorbulsky, Juozas Gruodis and Aleksandras Kačanauskas.
1959 Honored Artist of the Lithuanian SSR, 1964 Honored Artist of the Arts. In 1965 he was awarded the LSSR State Prize.
In 1981 his musical career was interrupted due to an accident and disability. After several years of trying to adapt, he retired from life.
Parents - Aleksandra Zubovaitė-Fledžinskienė and Jonas Fledžinskas Brother Vytautas Fledžinskas, sisters Aleksandra Kašubienė and Sofija Pempienė. Wife Kornelija Kalinauskaitė-Fledžinskienė, sons Putinas and Taurius.
