Lithuanian educator, civil servant, diplomat. Director of the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts (from November 2020).
1984 - graduated from the Klaipėda 7th Secondary School, the same year he became a laureate of the TV competition "Dainų dainelė". From 1984 to 1991 he studied at Vilnius Pedagogical Institute, Faculty of History. In 1989-1991 he worked as a history teacher at Vilnius 62nd Secondary School (now Vilnius Gabija Gymnasium). In 1991-1993 he was deputy headmaster of this school. In 1993-1996 he was the headmaster of the VPU University School (now Vilnius S. Daukantas Secondary School) and a teacher of history and civic education. 1996-1997 - Director of the National Examination Centre. 1997-2002 - Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science, 2002-2009 - State Secretary of the Ministry. Chaired the Commission for the Commemoration of the Year of Children's Culture (2007), the Organising Committees of the Lithuanian Pupils' Song Festival and the Song Song Song Contests. He was a member of the Commission for Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Governments of Lithuania and Russia (2001-2015), a member of the Lithuanian National UNESCO Commission (1997-2015), and headed the Steering Committee of the RAIN project to provide Lithuanian regions with high-speed Internet access.
2015-2020 - Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in St. Petersburg.
From November 2020 - Director of the National Art School of Nicholas Konstantin Čiurlionis. In 2024, "for fostering a creative society by listening, respecting, responding and providing the best possible conditions for the development of talent", he was awarded the St. Nicholas of Constantinople Award.
