1979-1990 he studied at the 41st Secondary School in Vilnius, 1990-1996 he studied classical philology at the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University, 1996-2000 he was a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), where he defended his doctoral dissertation "Nature in Flux: Plato's Reception of Presocratic Cosmological Theories".
