1972 - graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis Art School with a degree in choral conducting, 1981 - graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute with a degree in design. Since 1988 member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union.
Illustrated about 60 books by other authors, wrote and illustrated about 10 children's books. The main technique of illustrations is pencil and watercolour. They convey the diversity of characters in literature, often humanising animals, and are characterised by subtle combinations of pastel colours, halftones, and a combination of detailed realistic drawing and fantastical elements. He has received various awards. Since 1982 he has participated in more than 30 international exhibitions, including 13 Bologna Children's Book Fairs, 9 Bratislava Book Biennials and others.
