The main theme of Ridikaitė's paintings is the emptiness, which is associated with the blue of the sky, fluffy clouds, a plastered wall, a crumpled sheet or a disfigured piece of paper. On a light background, she draws abstract irregular shapes, single sketches of furniture or other objects in oil, like black or blue ink or ink, or draws out the entire layout of an apartment, marking and naming every detail of it. Handwritten words, sentences and numbers play an important role in these paintings. In some cases, these entries are included in the title of the picture itself. Together with the motifs depicted, they are paradoxical and have a humour that is specific only to the artist, for example, she titles a pattern of irregular circles "A few spirits looking after me". The inscriptions themselves and the nature of the drawing are similar to drawings on walls in public spaces. Later, Ridikaitė goes further down this road and replaces oil painting with aerosol sprays for graffiti.
In 2020, the Lithuanian Culture Institute and the Contemporary Art Centre presented a video essay "Jewish Vilna in the Works of Eglė Ridikaitė" (directed by Mikas Žukauskas, composed by Arturas Bumšteinas).
