is a Latvian composer and musician, better known as a composer of theatre and film music. He is a multiple winner of the Gambler's Night Award. In 2003 he received a Bachelor's degree in clarinet performance from the Jāzeps Vītols Academy of Music in Latvia under the tutelage of Sigurds Circenis. In 2005 he received a Master's degree in chamber ensemble with Herta Hansen, and in 2009 a Master's degree in composition with Andras Vecumnieks. In addition, she studied at the ABAM International Chamber Music Masterclasses in Ž. In 2009 he completed his Master's degree in composition at the Jāzeps Vītols Academy of Music in Latvia, where he studied composition with Andras Vecumnieks. He won the Latvian Academy of Music's Composition Department's Polyphonic Composition Competition (2003), and won second prize at the International Student Chamber Ensemble Competition in Klaipėda (2003). From September 2022 he is studying at the Latvian Academy of Culture in the Master's programme in Theatre Directing. Nīmanis has written music for more than 70 theatre productions. In 2010, he received a special award from the Baltic Theatre Festival (Lithuania) for his music for the Valmiera Theatre (Best Musical Performance) and the Spēlmaņu nakts Award (in the nomination "Author of the Year of Music in a Dramatic Performance") for his music for the play "Tides and Sunsets in the Sounds of Streams", and in 2012, he was awarded the same prize for his music for the National Theatre's production of the play "Voices". In 2011, he was nominated for this award for his music for Copenhagen (New Riga Theatre). 2014 Award for the best film music "Lielais Kristaps". In 2015, he received the AKKA/LAA Author Award for the music for the Latvian National Theatre's production "Raiņa Sapņi", also for the same work. In 2017, he shared the award with Kristaps Pētersons - Music of the Year for the dramatic production "Night of the Gamblers", for the production "Prodigal Son". In 2018, he received the award for Musical Composer of the Year in the drama play The Night of the Gamblers, for the plays Persian Language Lessons, The Mystery of the Fish-eating Queen and The Nightingale of Souls. 2019 Award - Musical Composer of the Year in the drama play "The Night of the Gamblers", for the plays "Journey to the North" and "The Wanderers". Since 2009 he has been a member of the Latvian Composers' Union. He is a regular participant in the concert life of Latvia, playing the clarinet and organising chamber music concerts at the New Riga Theatre, in which he also participated (2002-2010). He is involved in creating sound installations and audiovisual presentations in various art and social media and spaces. He composes chamber music, more elaborate works, as well as music for various theatres in Latvia and abroad, animations and films. From 2004 to 2015 he worked at the Bolderaja School of Art and Music, teaching clarinet and saxophone. Since 2014 lecturer at RISEBA Private University (audio-visual art lecture course "Music in Communication"), since 2016 lecturer at Latvian Academy of Culture. 2015 - 2017 Museum specialist for sound design and pedagogical work for the exhibition at the Museum of Writing and Music.
