Lithuanian entertainment business figure, TV and radio presenter, member and founder of the scandalously notorious group ŽAS.
Marius Berenis was born on 4 March 1973. He was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 7 March 2005. In 1991 he graduated from the 27th Secondary School in Vilnius.
Having initially wanted to study acting at the Vilnius Conservatoire, he changed his mind and founded the heavy metal band Regredior, which lasted for 3 years, during which time it released a vinyl 12-inch record in Germany and a CD in Belgium, and performed in clubs and festivals in Lithuania, Poland, Germany and England.
He worked as an orderly at the University Red Cross Hospital and later as a sound engineer at the Vilnius Maly Theatre.
In 1994, together with Linas Karalis, he started working as a presenter of the radio station M-1's Lithuanian music programme "Lithuanian Decibels". After getting acquainted with Lithuanian pop music, they recorded the songs "Debilas ir bažnyčioje debilas" (Debilas ir bažnyčioje debilas) and "Ne pieną gėręs ne nuo nuo pieną ir mirsi" (Ne pieną gėręs ne nuo nuo pieną ir mirsi), which is how the band Žas (Zas) (Žertva ant smūgio) came into being. He recorded and released ten studio albums with the band, performed in Lithuania, Ireland, Great Britain and Spain. He created the title songs for the TV series "Strangers", "Unloved", "Condemned".
He starred in the Lithuanian TV series "Together", "Uninvited Love", "Prosecutors".
He is a long-time host of the radio station M-1 (a.k.a. "Marazas"), and the manager of the LNK television musical reality show "Kelias į žvaigždes". In April 2016, Marius Berenis announced his departure from the band Žas.
Since 2011, he has been an employee of the radio station Lietus, author and presenter of programmes, since 2019 - music editor.
