Graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1963 and joined the Lithuanian Artists' Union (LDS) in 1964. From 1966 he was the head of the LDS ex-libris group, and for a number of years he was elected to the office of the LDS graphics section. He was a regular curator and participant of Lithuanian exhibitions of ex-libris and the International Vilnius Biennial of Ex-libris.
Created illustrations for 12 books (Leonardas Valaitis. Snake Drawer 1978, Augustinas Gricius. Sermons to the brothers of the idea, Liūnė Janušytė. Dots and Polotints, Aleksas Dabulskis, Porimtė poringės pan 1979, Antanas Pakalnis. Write a Folio!, Bunny Tales, both 1984, Romualdas Alekna. Colours of the Earth in 1997, etc.).
Linor-engraving technique created about 600 ex-libris (Jucių 1962, P. Galaunė 1975, F. Jakšis 1979). His work is characterised by folk art motifs, humour, expression, large-scale stamping. He has organised exhibitions of Lithuanian ex-libris (III-XIX), and since 1977 the international Vilnius Ex-libris Biennials.
