V. Lingys, according to art critic Prof. Antanas Andrijauskas, is one of the most intelligent contemporary Lithuanian painters with an expressive, spontaneous style.
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, he has undergone a long journey of creative exploration. His worldview and his work have changed. The impressions, experiences and experiences at the symposia and workshops in the USA, Germany, Mauritius, Japan and France had a definite impact on the artist's work. The way he paints, the colour palette of his paintings, the lines and shapes have changed.
The artist's canvases are now dominated by light, bright colours. In particular, the colour white shines through, which, as the art historian Dr. N. Tumėnienė has noted, glows from within in his paintings, has a cosmic quality, and rises above the mundane.
