Pianist, composer, arranger and music teacher, born in Vilnius, Lithuania. He studied classical piano at the art school and later classical and jazz piano at the Lithuanian Academy of Music.
He then deepened his musical knowledge at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main.
After his diploma, he spent another years in Germany, where, in addition to teaching at the Lent Museum Linsengericht, he led jazz piano trio projects with German musicians such as Klaus Hessler, Vitold Rek, Thomas Heidepriem, Hans Höhn, Tobias Backhaus and a New York bass player Trifon Dimitrov. In these years, several stays in India followed, where he studied Indian music and philosophy and played with Indian music masters. A. Rekasius has been improvising since childhood and has attended improvisation master classes with John Taylor, Brian Blade and Vladimir Chekasin, among others. In 1998 he won the international competition "Piano Jazz Improvisation" in Vilnius.
Adomas Rekasius has played in various bands at jazz festivals in Lithuania, Germany and Denmark. Since 2011, A.R. has been living in Switzerland and teaches classical and jazz piano as well as composition at the Bern Conservatory.
In addition to his intensive pedagogical work, A.Rekasius gives solo and piano trio concerts, composed film music and piano pieces.
The publishing house "Heinrichshofen & Noetzel" published his piano collections in 2013 and 2017.“Little Stories for Pop Piano” and “New Stories for Pop Piano”.
