Agne Jokse (Lithuania) lives and works between Vilnius and Copenhagen. Jokšė holds an MA from the Royal Danish Academy of Visual Arts and a BA in Monumental Painting from the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Using the tools of auto-ethnography, Jokšė tells stories in which her experiences and past events (related to reflections on love, intimacy and friendship) are intertwined with reflections on the world around her. Jokšė's work is expressed through writing, video and performance, exploring themes of parallel histories, compassion, intertwined relationships, queerness and language.
In 2022, a solo exhibition of her work was held at Editorial, Vilnius. Jokse's work has also been presented at: Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2022), Artists' Film International, Whitechapel Gallery, London (2021); Baltic Triennial 14, Vilnius (2021); Publics, Helsinki (2021); Nida Art Colony, Nida (2021); Mimosa House, London (2020); Centre for Contemporary Arts, Vilnius (2020). The artist's work "Dear Friend" was awarded the main JCDecaux Prize in 2019.
