He graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2013 she has been working at the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts as an assistant professor in the Ceramics Studio at the Faculty of Sculpture and Media. In 2022 she received her Doctor of Arts degree.
Alicja Buławka-Fankidejska works mainly in the field of artistic ceramics using alternative methods of firing ceramics in gas kilns of her own unique design. She is fascinated by the experimental approach to ceramic creation. Together with the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts she organises and leads a plein air workshop. "Alternatively Ceramics". She was awarded the Main Prize - for the best ceramic work "Into the Wild" at the Cluj-Napoca International Ceramic Biennial, Romania in 2015, 2021 and 2022.
She has presented her ceramic objects in 8 solo exhibitions (Poland, Denmark) and has participated in many competitive exhibitions and symposia in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Czech Republic, Denmark.
