1949-1955 he studied at the Telšiai Applied Art Technical School, in 1963 he graduated from the Vilnius Art Institute and started working at the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute (now Šiauliai University) as a lecturer, since 1980 as a professor. For twenty years, Toleikis was the head of the Drawing Department, and for ten years he was the head of the Šiauliai Artists' Union. In 1978, the sculptor was awarded the title of Lithuanian Merited Artist.
Aloyzas Toleikis - has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union since 1966. His works are made of marble, granite, bronze, terracotta and wood. The sculptor has taken part in exhibitions not only in Lithuania, but also in Poland, Moscow, Hungary and Germany. Major works. Krikščiūnas-Jovar "The Muse of Poetry" (1973), tomb monument to A. Bilevičiūtė (1977), bas-reliefs and busts of famous Šiauliai citizens. Naudužas, painter G. Bagdonavičius, actress P. Pinkauskaitė, doctor J. Jankauskas, and others.

Aloyzas Toleikis died on 17 December 2021, He was buried in the Gargždai town cemetery.
