My name is Andrea and I was born in Lima, Perú in 1988.
My artistic background is in theater, dance, and circus. I have trained in Perú, Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain and Sweden.
I have participated in various art projects in Peru, Spain, Estonia and Stockholm and, in 2022, I graduated with a Master's degree in Choreography from the Stockholms Konstnärliga Högskola (SKH)
The curiosity and drive for my work stems from political boundaries between bodies, and the raising of these boundaries. It also stems from the word political, from the word body and from what they signify in the contemporary and western influenced world that we live in.
It also comes from wondering about social imaginaries, hierarchies and power positions and how societies arrived to them.
I believe that stillness helps us understand movement, that we can hear beyond words and that the resonance of sound relates to all bodies, touches any surface and questions time as we know it.
