Lives in Vilnius and Vienna. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 2011 to 2015 and received the Kunstahlle Prize Vienna award in 2016. Through painting, drawings, installations, performances and video works, he creates unpredictable environments and absurd, sometimes comical situations that create double meanings and multiple meanings.
During the alternative education, Andrej will engage in making cut-outs of domestic and everyday objects out of unrecycled plastic materials, commonly used for truck tarpaulins and roadside advertisements, to create something similar to public space installations. With this witty yet serious gesture, the artist aims to convey the semantic value of these materials and to return them to the public space as completely different subjects.
