Graduated from the theater and decoration department of the Leningrad Art School named after V.A. Serov (now St. Petersburg Art School named after N.K. Roerich).
In 1979-1983 he worked at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus. As a production designer he designed the performances "The Kapellmeister's Choice", "The Lady's Maid", "Festival of Flowers in Cinzano", as an assistant to the chief artist Yevgeny Lysyk he participated in the creation of the performances "Spartacus" and "The Nutcracker". As a production designer at the opera studio of the Belarusian State Conservatory he designed the productions of Pagliacci and Le nozze di Figaro.
Since 1983 he has worked at the Mariinsky Theatre, being the chief specialist in scenic and technological works. He took part in the creation of more than a hundred performances of the theater as a layout artist and assistant production designer. As a production designer at the Mariinsky Theatre he staged productions of Parsifal (1997), The Power of Destiny (1998) and The Sleeping Beauty (1999). As an assistant to Mikhail Shemyakin he worked on the productions of "The Nutcracker" (2001), "Princess Pirlipat, or Punished Nobility" (2003), "The Magic Nut" (2005), "Metaphysics", "The Mole", "The Sacred Spring" (2006).
As a production designer at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater named after P.I. Tchaikovsky he staged the ballet "The Nutcracker" (2001), "The Princess Pirlipat, or Punished Nobility" (2003), "The Magic Nut" (2005), "Metaphysics", "The Mole", "The Sacred Spring" (2006). Tchaikovsky staged the ballets "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" (2011), "Orango" and "Conditionally Murdered" (2015), at the Musical Theater of the Republic of Karelia - the ballet "The Nutcracker" (2009), at the National Theater of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - the ballet "The Lady with the Camellias" (2012), at the National Ballet of Berlin - the performance "The Nutcracker" (2013), at the Samara Opera and Ballet Theater - ballets "Corsair" (2014) and "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" (2019), at the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater - production of "Swan Lake" (2015), at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater - ballets "Don Quixote" (2016) and "Coppelia" (assistant production designer, 2010).
He is engaged in book graphics, easel painting, works in the genre of theater poster. As an artist-designer in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, he designed the international exhibition project "Time and Creativity of Lev Bakst" (2016). Personal exhibitions of the artist are held both in Russia and abroad. The artist's works are in the collection of the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, art museums of Russia, in private collections in the United States, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland. He is a member of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.
