Renowned guitarist, arranger and composer Artūras Chalikovas (1967) has loved jazz since he was a child, which is when his first compositions were born. At the age of 16, he enrolled at the Klaipėda Conservatoire's stage department, majoring in guitar. He studied composition privately with composer A. Remes. He has played with many well-known Lithuanian jazz musicians, including V. Labutis, G. Abarius, D. Pulauskas, A. Anusauskas, E. Buožius, A. Joffe, L. Buda, A. Gotesmanis, R. Brazaitis, S. Sasnauskas, D. Praspaliauskis, O. Molokojedov, and others. He has composed for the most famous Lithuanian singers: emeritus V. Noreika, V. Malinauskas, S. Povilaitis, E. Kučinskas, R. Čivilyte, N. Malūnavičiute, R. Ščiogolevaitė, V. Riaubiškytė and others. He has played with foreign stars: world-famous American accordionist Frank Marocco (2011), singer Lana Gordon (2011), singer Niki Harris (2012), jazz star wind multi-instrumentalist J.Morrison (2013), singer Sheila Chiarz, daughter of Ray Charles (2014), with whom he recorded an album in the same year. He has performed numerous times with various Lithuanian symphony orchestras (under the batons of G. Rinkevičius, M. Pitrens, R. Šervenikas), big bands (under the batons of R. Grabštis, T. Batyris), orchestras (Trumpet, Wind Orchestra of the Ministry of the Interior) as a guest soloist. He has played in various jazz festivals (Birštonas, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Riga) and LRT projects. With AfroKayffe he took part in Birštonas Jazz Festival in 2022 and with Egidijus Buožio's band & Cappella`A & Zara McFarlane in Kaunas JAZZ Festival 2023. He has been performing regularly not only on guitar, but also on keyboards (Classical, Jazz) and bass guitar.
One of the fields of Arturas Chalikovas is Christian music. Since 2002 he has been a regular participant of the Soul festival of contemporary Christian music. He has received several awards. From 1990 to 2007 he was a worship leader in two communities and since 2013 he has been leading a worship group in Vilnius Bernardine Church. He has released 10 albums of Christian music. He has given two filmed concerts of the LRT rock version of the Psalms in Vilnius at the Congress Hall in 2004. Gabalis and V. Kovalev. Composed 60 jazz themes, 50 hymns, music for 150 psalms from the Biblical Psalter and for the book of the Holy Scripture "Giesmių giesmė". He has written two guitar manuals, "Guitar for All" (2002) and "Solo Guitar for All" (2007), and a theological book "Conscience and Faith" (2009).Link
He is currently the leader of two ensembles: the Vilnius Guitar Trio (founded in 2015), with G. Šulinskas and A. Zujević and the Jazz Brothers Quintet (founded in 2001).
 Continuing the work of his father Rafael Chalikov, who worked in Šiauliai for more than 30 years teaching guitar and drumming, Artūras founded his own private Vilnius Guitar School "Glorija" in 1996. His most advanced students (J. Martinken, R. Semeniukas, A. Murencevas and others) today accompany such well-known Lithuanian contemporary music artists as L. Adomaitis, M. Mikutavičius, V. Baumilas, M. Jankavičius (Mantas), V. Povilionienė, I. Starošaitė, Š. Džaniašvili (Šorena), D. Montvydas, G. Vaitkutė, M. Levickis, accordionist M. Levickis, and others.
