Artūras' childhood was spent in Umurga, near Limbaži. He used to train seriously in basketball and dreamed of becoming a professional athlete. While participating in dance sport, he discovered that he liked being on stage. He studied at Riga Hanza Secondary School and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Latvian Academy of Culture. When he started working with puppets, Artūras realised how difficult it was. He is blessed with a good sense of humour, which he uses not only in his roles on stage, but also in his open-air radio show "Balcony Voices". He has been an actor in the Latvian Puppet Theatre since 2010
