Promotes the continuity and transferability of instrumental folklore traditions, collects instrumental folklore material on expeditions, gathers material on folk music instruments, their masters and performers, researches the state of Lithuanian folk instruments and instrumental music, and prepares articles on instrumental folklore. He gives lectures and conducts practical classes on instrumental folklore at republican and regional seminars and at "Traditional Music Making Courses". Participates in the preparation of the Folklore Day of the Lithuanian Song Festival, international folklore festivals "Baltica", "Griežynė", ethno-instrumentological expeditions, surveys, exhibitions, competitions, etc.
