A. Kašauskas was born in 1959 in Vilnius. From 1977 to 1982, he studied frescoes and mosaics at the Vilnius Art Institute (now the Vilnius Academy of Arts). While learning frescoes, he was taught that a minimal amount of color was sufficient, and that the painting needed to be done through expressive drawing and strong composition. However, over his many years of experience, he began to understand that the foundation of painting is color. He currently wishes to transfer his interpretation of the surrounding world onto canvas, using color relationships, textures, drawing, and brushstrokes to create an original object that is called a painting. Within these works, he encodes certain information, emotions, and spiritual states that emit energy from the wall and will continue to do so even after he has passed away. Recognizable motifs, absolute color sense, structured compositions, delicate textures, and the depth within his paintings all convey the lasting values of his art. Almost every year, he holds solo exhibitions and participates in group exhibitions in Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Italy, Germany, France, and other countries.
