born 1981 in Plunge; lives and works in Vilnius. Researcher since 2013. In 2012, she defended her doctoral thesis in the field of art history at the Academy of Fine Arts, entitled "Embodied Fine Arts: Theoretical Discourse and Expression in Lithuanian Contemporary Art" (scientific supervisor: doc. dr. Lolita Jablonskienė). From 2013-2016, together with Prof. Henrik B. Andersen, she organised "Theoretical Seminars & Critical Meetings" for VDA Master's students of visual arts. Since 2014, she has been teaching the course Site, Time, Context in Lithuanian Contemporary Art to the MA students of the VAA, and since 2017 - Preventive Protection of Artwork to the BA students of the Department of Monuments Management.
Aušra Trakšelytė is interested in site-specific art and its theory, exploring this topic in various formats, such as exhibitions of contemporary art, public lectures and publications. Since 2003, she has been an active critic in the field of contemporary art, writing articles, essays and exhibition reviews; since 2004, she has been curating exhibitions, presenting at conferences and giving public lectures in Lithuania and abroad. Since September 2016, she has been granted the status of artist.
