Biography
writer, R. Biržinytė literary prize laureate, author of children's books, lecturer, creative artist – was born on August 5, 1970 in the village of Juodėjų, Telšiai district. In 1977–1988, she studied at Tryškiai secondary school. In 1991, she graduated from Klaipėda Pedagogical School, obtaining a kindergarten teacher's specialty. In 1991–1996, she studied at Šiauliai University, obtaining a primary school teacher's specialty. In 2011, she moved to Kražiai (Kelmė district) and spent several years of her life here. She actively participated in the social and cultural life of the entire Kelmė district – she acted and sang in various groups.
Creativity Ilona Bakšė-Bumblauskienė began her career in her specialty – as a kindergarten teacher, primary school teacher, later working as a substitute for extracurricular work. After creating the magazine “Nykštukas”, she got a job at the publishing house “Flintas”, where until 2018 she worked as the editor-in-chief of the children’s magazine “Kutis”, an author of books and a project manager. Since 2010 she has become a lecturer – she gives lectures in various Lithuanian cities, and gladly participates in meetings with readers at the Kelmė Žemaitė Public Library and other Lithuanian libraries. She actively creates educational content for children and families. Created 2 international magazines – “Nykštukas” and “Kutis”, published over 200 publications for children – “Moms and Babies”, “What’s Here?”, “Stick Faces”, “I’m Already Learning”, “Albert the Rabbit Academy”, “Rutuliukai”, “Robots”, “Ilgaplaukės”, “Laukiu Kalėdus” and others. The magazines and books were very successful not only in Lithuania, but also abroad.
