Bernardas Burba, born and raised in Vilnius, lives and works in Antakalnis. He draws his small and graphic works in ink and pen, silk-screens them, and creates original postcards of Vilnius.
His inspiration comes from the mysterious and changing city of Vilnius, its buildings and unique places. In his work you will find signs of his childhood memories as well as current events. The artist's horizons include the history of our country and its prominent personalities, culture, seemingly unremarkable but unique buildings, and moments of our everyday life depicted down to the smallest detail. The old Vilnius trolleybus often inhabits the works - the author sees it as a natural and charming symbol of the city, reflecting the rhythm of the city's life and the passage of time. Bernard's works are inhabited by unrelieved houses, the minutiae of the city, objects sinking into the past, and small details where time stands still...
