Birutė Petrikytė is a member of the Lithuanian Unity Fund, the St. Casimir Fund, a recipient of the A. Šabaniauskas Award, founder and organizer of the international pop music festival "Palanga", organizer and sponsor of the international children's festival "Let's Protect the Baltics", and has performed on the professional stage for forty-five years. In 1969, she was a member of the ensemble "Kopų Balsai", and since 1973 she has performed with the ensemble "Vilniaus Aidai", and since 1974 - with the ensemble "Nerija". She became the winner of the contest "Vilniaus Bokštai" in 1976, and in 1976, she was chosen by readers of the magazine "Jaunimo Gretos" as the most popular singer. She also performed with the ensemble "Nemuno Žiburiai" in 1978, and in 1979, she became a member of it in the nightclubs "Orbita" and "Žalias Kalnas" in Kaunas. In 1979, she was a member of the folk ensemble "Versmė" and became a laureate of the Moscow Union contest "With Song throughout Life". She also won the Jūrmala Festival prize in 1979 and 1984, as well as the "Krymas Aušra" contest in 1980. Her image was filmed in the musical film "Šypsokis" in 1980. She also won the international competition "Jūrmala" with the ensemble "Versmė" in 1984, and the main prize of the "Bratislavos Lyra" contest in 1985. Birutė Petrikytė received the Antanas Šabaniauskas Prize in 1997, and since 1999, she has organized an international pop music festival. Since 2004, she has been a member of the St. Kazimieras Order and since 2006, a member of the Lithuanian Unity Fund Board. She has also been a member of international competitions since 2009, and in 2013, she became a member of the international commission and performer of the Slavianskij Bazar International Festival.
