Birutė Ukrinaitė (b. 1968 in Utena) graduated from Stepa Žukas Technical School of Applied Arts in Kaunas (1983–1987), then Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she majored in theater artist (1988–1995). He took part in festivals: the environmental theater and non-traditional art festival "Po teatro kiemo dangum" in Kaunas (1999), the 2nd Lithuanian Eucharistic Congress (2000), the Lithuanian Millennium Song Festival "Amziu sutartinė" in Vilnius (2009), initiated by the director G. B. Padegis. Participates in scenography exhibitions, creates installations. 1995 and 2015 exhibited his works in group scenography exhibitions at the Prague Quadrennial.
Since 1994 He created costumes and scenography for more than 70 drama and musical theater performances in Lithuanian and foreign theaters. She collaborated with directors Simon Powel, Gediminas Storpirščias, Irena Bučienes, Saulius Varnas, but the artist's collaboration with director Bernard Gyčis Padegims continues for the longest time. Since the first performance created together - Antanas Jasenko's musical "Girių giesmė" (1998) based on Lesia Ukrainka's play - the artist has visually created more than 50 drama performances and operas staged by this director in various theaters in Lithuania and abroad, including three directed by B. G. Padegimos at the Klaipėda State Music Theater .
B. Ukrinaitė develops a minimalistic aesthetic in the scenes she creates. Her works are characterized by an extremely wide range of creative expression - from chamber, refined scenography to large, colorful images realized by various means of theater art, which are connected by contrasts of light and dark.
in 2006 the artist was awarded at the Lithuanian National Dramaturgy Festival "Versmė" for the scenography and costumes for the play "One Father's Children" based on the play by Juoz Glinskis (directed by B. G. Padegimas, Lithuanian National Drama Theatre). in 2019 for the scenography of E. Balsi's opera "Journey to Tilžė" was nominated for the "Thank you Mask".
