Lithuanian theatre actor, director. In 1956 he graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatory (course leader Andrei Poliakovas, specialist teacher J. Kavaliauskas), in 1968 – Higher courses of directing at the Maly Theatre in Moscow. 1956–62 Kapsukas, from 1963 actor of the Klaipėda Drama Theatre, from 1968 also director. 1973–91 taught at the Klaipėda faculties of the Lithuanian Conservatory, 1992–2007 at Klaipėda University, 1997–2006 at the Klaipėda S. Šimkus Conservatory; associate professor (2001).
The most important roles: Worm (V. Mykolaičius-Putin's Valdovas 1964), Žičkus-Žičkauskas (J. Marcinkevičius Čičinskas 1975), Milkus, Motiejus (Just. Marcinkevičius Mažvydas 1976, Katedra 1980), Father (J. Glinski's Po Vvarstyklių zengu 1976), Luka (M. Gorkio Dogne 1978), Don Juan (W. Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing 1997), Priest, Parson (Frank Kruk, based on P. Cvirka), Reginald Paget (R. Harwood's Quartet, both 2003), Gloucester (W. Shakespeare's King Lear 2006), Old Man and Confessor (A. Strindberg's The Road to Damascus 2007). The acting is lyrical, dramatic, and the characters' personalities are especially expressive. Directed performances: E. Rannet's Criminal Tango (1968), R. Samulevičius's Nebylys (1970, based on Vaižgantas), K. Binkis' Atžalynas (1971), J. Gruša's Barbora Radvilaitė (1973), Molière's Tartuffe (1974), N. Simonas's Keistuoliai i varietė (1991), S. Maršakas's Katė namai (1995).
He has organized 45 art exhibitions, written poems (collections Žvyrkeliai 1994, Išskridė paukčiai 2001, Rieda sauleų vakarop, Spalvoti stikliukai, both 2004, Delnai, Portretai, sonnetai ir haiku, both 2006). Medal of the Order of Merit to Lithuania (2007).
