Born in Taiwan, Chih-Yuan Yang studied at Taipei National University of the Arts, where he focused on Taiwanese dance technique. After an early fascination with dance, he decided to further develop his dance technique at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London.
Chih-Yuan Yang has received numerous awards for his achievements: in 2018, he won the Honorable Second Prize at the Fuzhou Dance Competition in China- Gold Prize (in the Contemporary category), in 2017 he won the Star of Canaan Dance International Ballet Grand Prix in Hong Kong- Scholarship Award, and in 2016 he was honoured with the 8th International Taipei Ballet Grand Prix in Taiwan- Scholarship Award.
