Darius Klišys, born in 1969, graduated from Marijampolė music school in 1984. He studied at Kaunas J. Gruodis Conservatory from 1984 to 1988 and obtained a degree in playing the clarinet and conducting an orchestra. Later, he studied sound engineering at the Audio Institute of America in the United States from 1992 to 1994. He then pursued his studies of clarinet performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under Prof. Romualdas Apanavičius and Doc. Kastytis Mikiška. He received his Bachelor's degree in Music in 2003 and his Master's Degree in Music in 2005. During his studies, he developed an interest in Baroque music, its performance, interpretation, and history. In 2003, he founded the ensemble "Reversio" with Mindaugas Radzevičius that performs old music with the clarinet. The ensemble has performed in Lithuania and abroad in Belgium, Germany, and France. Darius Klišys is known for his performances with early music ensemble Concerto Polacco, Polish harpsichordist Marek Toporowski, mezzo-soprano Nora Petročenko, and others. He has also composed music for theatre, created music for plays and movies, and organized artistic projects. Additionally, he teaches clarinet playing, music programming, and sound engineering. He founded the international festival of woodwind instruments "Medynės" in 2015 to promote woodwind instruments and the music they create.
