There are at least two important things in Egidija Medekšaitė's study biography: the fact that she graduated from the composition class of Rytis Mažulis at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2008, and the fact that she graduated from the Kaunas University of Technology in 2003 with a degree in Textile Design. She is organically connected to her composition mentor through her research on musical micro-dimensions and the "digital" principle, which refers both to the calculation of compositions and the use of digital media, while her textile studies provide a strong conceptual and structural impulse to her musical work. Indian musical structures often infiltrate Medekshaitė's post-minimalist compositions. However, when listening to her music, it does not seem to be constructed on strict structuralist principles; rather, it sounds like a hypnotic, ambient fluid of sounds flowing through the spaces through the forms.
