I am Eglė Kontrimienė, who also goes by her maiden name Degutytė or Degutis. I was born in 1974 in Kaunas, grew up in Alytus, came to Klaipėda in 1991, and my further life was in this city. In 2015 I graduated from Klaipėda University, Faculty of Arts, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Already during my studies, while searching for the foundation of my individual creative path, I realised that my creative field would be abstract, spontaneous, gestural painterly expression, and the subject matter would be mostly based on Lithuanian landscapes, emotionally experienced. In the 8 years of individual work that have followed my studies, I have been working consistently in this chosen field, expanding it further with constant explorations of plastic expression and creative experiments. I combine different painting techniques, from traditional oil painting materials to the most recent ones, such as graffiti, looking for a dialogue between different techniques.
